A doctor said I'd never walk normally again.
A swimming pool became my rehabilitation center.
And a few unexpected people helped me keep moving when I thought I couldn't.
We had just moved to Thailand.
I had a new job and felt on top of the world.
Then one morning, I woke up with severe back pain.
Within months, walking became difficult.
Sitting hurt.
Lying down hurt.
Even watching television hurt.
One doctor eventually looked at me and said:
"You'll never walk normally again."
